Las Vegas

With November just around the corner, it seems there are fewer and fewer options to get away somewhere warm as 2014 comes to an end. One exciting location that still reaches temperatures of 19°C even during November is Las Vegas, located in the Nevada desert.

Contrary to popular belief, Vegas offers much more than just casinos, so if you’re looking for family fun, you’ll find it in the right place with our comprehensive guide. You can still brush up on your blackjack or poker skills here with today’s range of online guides, but for a little daytime fun, here are a few Vegas gems.

Visit M&M’s World

While we’re all familiar with the delectable little sweet that is the M and M, not many o fus know that the first ever M&M’s World was first built in Las Vegas in 1997. This is the perfect family friendly destination for people of all ages, featuring four floors of merchandise, sweets and lots more. The M&M’s race car just by the entrance was featured in the NASCAR Sprint Cup series, and there’s also a 3D Movie theatre inside.

Ride the roller coasters

Vegas doesn’t just promise thrills in its casinos – there is also fun to be had from atop its famous strip! Head over to the New York New York Hotel where you’ll find The Roller Coaster – a huge beaming red structure which takes you on vertical loops on top of the world famous hotels. It’s quite expensive at $14 a ride, but you can also purchase a family of four tickets for £60.

Browse the Forum Shops

Deep within the heart of Caesar’s Palace, there is a plethora of shops that offer a mix of high street and designer brands such as Versace. There are also plenty of souvenirs and you can even catch the Fall of Atlantis animatronic show every half hour. Whether you’re into sports goods or high end fashion, there’s a treat for every kind of customer – and there’s also a Cheesecake Factory next to the animatronic show if you get hungry.

Dine from the skies

If you’re not dizzy enough from riding the roller coaster, then you might just enjoy the gourmet dining experience at the Top of the World restaurant on top of the Stratosphere. The restaurant offers unrivalled views of Las Vegas, rotating a full 360°C every 80 minutes. Perfect for those who want to take their partners on an extra special date, this is a dining experience like no other.
